Metallic Lips

Metallic Lips

Metallic liquid lipstick seems to be the must have product this summer. I’ve noticed so many cosmetic companies are coming out with this type of product, most notably Kylie Jenner’s makeup line which everyone appears to be going crazy for.

Usually I try to avoid metallics on the lips as they can start to look a bit frosty and “80s” which isn’t a look I’m fond of. Metallic lips can also accentuate thin lips, having no top lip to speak of this terrifies me. Having said that I’m not one to write off a beauty trend until I’ve at least tried it first, but I don’t want to shell out an arm and a leg on something I might not like. So I’m going to show you how I create the metallic liquid lipstick effect with products you already own.

What you will need:

  • A matte lipstick or liquid lipstick, the colour is up to you.
  • A metallic or shimmery eyeshadow or pigment, again in any colour.

Apply the matte lipstick or liquid lipstick to the entire lip. Over the top apply the shadow or pigment, if you’re using a liquid lipstick do this before the lipstick sets. I find this is easiest if you dab it on to the lip with your finger rather than a brush. And there you go, easy as that.

To create this look I used Ofra everlasting liquid lipstick in Bronx with Illamasqua pigment in android pressed over the top.

Thanks for reading everyone, let me know if you try a metallic lip yourself.
