Yes, it’s another eyeshadow palette! I know I have a real problem, but this one was too good to miss. I’ve heard so much about the Morphe 35O palette so I had to see what all the fuss was about. It’s a huge palette of 35 shades, some matte, some shimmer. It is also now available in all matte and all shimmer should you have a preference, I went for the original so that I could try both formulas. If you’re in Dubai I ordered mine from The Makeup Store and ordering and delivery was very quick and convenient:
The main thing that attracted me to this palette is the shade range, 35 beautiful warm orange tones. I always prefer warm colours when it comes to eye makeup and orange will make blue eyes “pop” so it’s a great one for me. Even if you don’t have blue eyes these shades are perfect for blending out a smokey eye or for those whose skin tone is better suited to warm colours.
Now on to the actual review. I had no real expectations from this palette, I’ve heard such mixed reviews about it and it is my first Morphe product so I had nothing to compare it to. My first thoughts when I opened the package were:
- The packaging is God awful
- The colours are amazing
- I wish there was a mirror in it
The packaging is super cheap and flimsy, I can forgive this though if the product is good. If you’re buying from the US then I believe this is quite an inexpensive product which explains the cheap packaging, sadly this is not the case in Dubai. I guess the mirror gripe also comes under the packaging umbrella too. So if you’re looking for something expensive and luxurious with collectible packaging, this one is not for you.
The product itself is beautiful. The 35O palette contains every warm shade you could possibly want as well as some darker cooler colours to compliment them. The colours are extremely pigmented too, even the matte shades which is great, and uncommon in more affordable makeup. The one draw back is that the matte colours can be a little bit difficult to blend, they have the tendency to go a little patchy. I’ve inserted a picture of a matte smokey eye I created using the palette and you can see the blend is a little patchy. My advice to combat this would be to make sure you use a good base shadow before hand and clean brushes to blend. The shimmer shades on the other hand, are perfect. They apply creamy and smooth and the pigmentation is unbelievable. If you apply the shimmer shades with a wet brush they give the most intense shine.
Overall I’d give the palette a 7/10. The colours are exactly what I was hoping for and the pigmentation is better than I expected. The packaging although not the best could be a lot worse. I prefer that is a wipe down plastic than cardboard. My main issue with the Morphe 35O is that the mattes are a little patchy but it won’t stop me from using it. I’d definitely recommend the Morphe 35O palette if you’re a warm colour lover and I’m keen to try more products from Morphe now.
As always thanks for reading everyone! I’d love to know if any of you have tried the palette and what you think of it.
