Concealer: Blogger’s Christmas Beauty Brawl

It’s the final day of the Blogger’s Christmas Beauty Brawl and I’m so sad to see it end. I’ve had such a lot of fun taking part and reading everybody else’s posts. I now also have a wishlist a mile long, oops! For the last day we will all be reviewing a concealer. I decided to end on a good note review my very favourite concealer. This will probably come as no surprise to most of you as it is Illamasqua skin base lift.

Concealer: Blogger's Christmas Beauty Brawl

Product

I gave the game away a little early, but I really love this product. It is the concealer I have in my kit because I think it’s great for every skin tone and skin type. It can be used under the eyes as well as the conceal blemishes. It is very highly pigmented, it can even be used to cover tattoos. Despite being so highly pigmented it still isn’t cakey or thick. As with the foundation though, be careful not to apply too much. When over applied you may find it will crease and settle into fine lines. With this stuff less is more – which is great because that means it lasts forever!

Packaging

The packaging is very much in keeping with the rest of the Illamasqua line, sleek and professional looking. I’ve mentioned in other posts that I’d like the packaging to be more ornate and decorative for some things, but for something you’re going to carry in your kit that is in fact that last thing that you want. The packaging of this concealer is great because it isn’t fussy or over the top but it still looks expensive. Perfect for the professional kit. It even has a teeny tiny mirror inside which is the cutest little touch ever!

Price

This retails for £18 in the UK. I think that’s a pretty good price. Of course it would be fantastic if it was cheaper but for a high end product I don’t think it’s extortionate. You can also apply for industry discount if you are a working makeup artist (I believe) so that’s always good. I only carry 3 shades out of the 6 in my kit and mix them to get the perfect shade for my clients. I’ve never felt the need to but any more so again, that makes it more cost effective.
