After many months of waiting patiently the Too Faced Sweet Peach eye shadow palette is back in stock. I was one of the lucky few who managed to grab the palette the first time around. It only just occurred to me that even though I’ve had this palette for months, I never got around to doing a review on it! So to rectify that situation I thought I would do a “revisit review” to see if my thoughts on the palette had changed any since my initial impression. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to show you some of my favourite looks that I’ve created using the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette.
When I first got the palette I was obsessed with it. I was using it everyday to wear to work, but do I still love it as much now? Let’s find out!
I love the range of colours in this palette! It’s very wearable but it still has some shades that are a little bit different to your usual brown tones. The peach tones are of course very warm, which is right up my street. But there are also a few slightly different colours; greens, purples and blues, which I really appreciate. It stops the palette from becoming too boring. As for the consistency and formula of the shadows – it’s pretty good. Almost every single shadow is amazing. Creamy, buttery and super pigmented. Sadly for me the shade “Talk Derby To Me” isn’t of the same standard. I really struggled to get the desired pigment out of this particular shadow and it wasn’t nearly as pretty on the skin as it is in the palette. I wouldn’t let that put you off buying it though, everything else about the sweet peach palette is fantastic. All the other shades are amazing, they smell amazing, they look amazing and they feel amazing!
I think the packaging is sweet. It’s a little gimmicky and child-like in its pencil-case style tin but I quite enjoy that, it feels kind of nostalgic. I never used to be a huge fan of Benefit cosmetics because I always found that their packaging was very gimmicky and kitsch but the product inside rarely lived up to the hype, in my opinion, so I stopped buying from them. I must admit in recent years I have been pleasantly surprised when I’ve tried Benefit’s products, so I do believe they’ve upped their game and the product is finally of the same standard as the packaging. My point is though that this sort of packaging usually annoys me. I’d rather it be basic and the product amazing than the other way around. With Too Faced I think things have gone the other way. I’ve always loved their products, since I first set eyes on their “lip injection” lip gloss when I was still in school. The packaging wasn’t half as fancy back then but the product was great. As they’ve got bigger they’ve improved the packaging and maintained a great product. So yes, very long story short, I do like the packaging. It’s cute and girly, without being too bulky or impractical for me to have in my kit. I can also easily recognise the palette when it is in my kit, so again another bonus.
The Too Faced Sweet Peach palette retails at $49. Obviously this isn’t a drugstore product so it’s on the pricier side. I don’t think the price is terrible for a high-end product though. I think as an occasional treat to yourself, or even better as a gift to someone else this is a great price point for a quality product.
So as I’ve been using this palette for around half a year I’ve had plenty of time to play around with it. So here are some of my favourite looks to create with it:
I love the colour “nectar” it might be my favourite in the palette. So this is my everyday look that I like to do using this palette. I use “nectar” in the inner corner, “puree” in the crease and “peach pit” in the outer V. It can be done with and without liner.
Kylie Cosmetics have also recently released a peach toned palette for spring. I’ve heard many mutterings in the beauty world that it might be even better than the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. Having never tried Kylie’s palette I can’t comment on whether or not that is true. What I will say though is that I really REALLY love the eye look on the front of the Kylie packaging. It’s a peach shadow with blue liner. So that is where I got the inspiration for this look. I used “candied peach” all over the lid and finished with an electric blue winged liner. I smoked out the lower lash line using the colour “delectable”.
The final look I’m going to show you is using one of my favourite colours in the palette “Bless Her Heart”. I used it all over the lid with “tempting” in the outer corner and blended out with “georgia”.
What do you guys think? Do any of you own this palette yet? Do you think you’ll go for this one or the Kylie Palette? I love this palette and I’m really tempted by some of the other products in the Sweet Peach collection too.
As always, thanks so much for reading!
