There’s a new makeup trend in town! I don’t know about you but crown eyeshadow is blowing up all over my social media. And I love it!
For those of you not sure what I’m rambling on about, let me explain. Crown eye makeup is literally as it sounds – eyeshadow in the shape of a crown. Cute, right? Who wouldn’t want their eyes to feel like a pair of princesses?!
Some of My Favourite Eyeshadow Crowns

How to Create Crown Eyeshadow
After seeing the cute images above I think you’ll agree that crown eyeshadow is awesome. But how do you get the look? Well it’s actually pretty simple!
First of all you’re going to want to pick your colours. Pink is the obvious choice – all Princesses love pink, am I right or am I right? But if you’re feeling rebellious any colour will work. You can pick two shades of the same colour or you can have the crown eyeshadow a contrasting colour to the lid eyeshadow. Entirely up to you folks!
Once you’ve settled on your colour palette you’re going to want to create a classic smokey eye using one of the eyeshadows. Pack it on and smoke it out. Super simple so far!
The it’s as easy as free handing your crown. Handy hint: To make the crown eyeshadow stand out I used a liquid product to sketch out the shape, then applied the shadow over the top of that.
You can leave it there or add some finishing touches. Being a bit *extra* I had to add a little sumthin’ sumthin’ to my crown. I went for teeny tiny pearls on the “pointy bits” (I’m sure this is how the queen refers to them too) and a glitter base. But of course the design is up to you!
And it’s that simple!
As you can see from my design, my crown is a little crooked. It was my first attempt so you’ll forgive me, right? As with liner though, practice makes perfect so keep at it and you’ll have perfectly symmetrical, princess-peepers in no time.
So what do you all think of this trend? Would you actually wear it out of the house or is it just one of those pretty-to-look-at instagram looks? I think the “pointy bits” (I must learn the correct word for this!) look really cool popping over the top of your lashes. Especially when they’re embellished with rhinestones and pearls! So even though it’s more of an alternative look I think it would be so cool for a party or a night out!
