Hello my lovely beauty addicts. Long time no blog – I know! I’ve had a busy few months and blogging took a back seat. Luckily my little blogging breather means that I have a whole lot to fill you in on. To start with I have a new day job so watch this space for some office appropriate makeup looks. If you’re a loyal customer there is no need to panic though – I’m still taking bookings and continuing with my beauty work! I’m also (kind of) blonde again so there’ll be a lot more hair care talk, so keep your eyes peeled if that’s what you’re into.
As for today though I just thought I’d tell you about some of the products I can’t put down! My monthly favourites if you will. It was my birthday last month and I was thoroughly spoiled so I have some fantastic new additions to chat about. I’ve also been digging through my collection and I’ve rediscovered my love for some classic beauty items too. So without further ado… my May favourites (and April and March!!)
Urban Decay Naked Palette
This palette is older than I care to admit. I bought it when it was first released and it moved to Dubai with me… so probably too old for me still to be using. But I gotta tell you it’s stood the test of time. This palette was such a hit at the time and honestly, I’d forgotten how good it is. My absolute favourite shade from the palette is “smog” – it makes for the perfect smokey eye.
There is one thing that bugs me about this palette though, and that’s the lack of matte shadows. There are only 2 and while they look quite neutral in colour they actually pay off very cool toned on my skin – and I’m just not about that life.
The shimmer shades are good enough to make up for it though. In fact I recently mentioned this palette in my “palettes worth the price” post. I’m a big fan!
OPI SPF XXX
Another recent obsession of mine is this gorgeous nail polish. I have the regular formula and the gel and I’m currently wearing on my fingers and my toes – I told you I was obsessed!! It’s so summery and pretty and it looks AHMAZING with a tan. The OPI gelcolor formula is incredible too, it lasts for a good few weeks on my nails so I don’t need to waste time painting them each evening like I would with a normal polish.
Garnier Repair Hair Mask
I mentioned earlier that My hair is blonde again. Let me tell you it was not an easy transition – my hair currently resembles streaky bacon. Not only that, it feels horrific too from the bleach damage – *sobs*. Luckily this garnier mask has helped save the day. I leave it on for 5 minutes while I’m in the shower and my hair feels strong and soft again after using it. The honey and royal jelly smell is incredible too.
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows
I’m having a total Tilbury moment! I received some of her range as birthday gifts and it’s made me fall back in love with the line. At the minute I can’t get enough of the “bitch perfect” lipstick and the legendary brows brow gel. The brow gel is just so quick and easy – I don’t even need a pencil with it as the product fills the brows as well as keeping them in place. It’s perfect for those mornings when you’re in a rush.
Too Faced Leopard Bronzer
This is another gorgeous gift. Not only is it beautiful to look at but it’s also a great time saver. Bronzer, blush and a subtle highlight all in one. I use it everyday for work – the time saved using one product instead of 3 gives me at least another 2 minutes in bed!
NARS Audacious Lipstick in Brigette
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try a lipstick from this range but I wish I’d done it sooner! This colour is so pretty if you like a wearable pink lip and the formula is lovely. It gives great colour payoff and is matte while still being creamy. I find it incredibly comfortable to wear while still lasting a decent amount of time.
Not beauty related I know but I had to mention this necklace! I’ve not taken it off since I got it – I’m totally obsessed!
Pixi glow tonic
My gorgeous friend gave me this when I was back in the UK last month and I was so excited to try it. I’ve heard so much about this product and as I mentioned in my beauty resolutions post I am trying to be better with skincare. I love how fresh Faced I look after using the glow tonic – it really works at exfoliating. I will say though it broke me out terribly after about a week. My skin reacted quite badly to it. I’ve cut down to using it just once a week now and so far that’s working fine – so if you do try this product be cautious.
I love love love having new products to try out and share with you guys, so I will try to blog more frequently in future to avoid the “rushed” feel of this post. I just wanted to get it all in – they really are fantastic products! If you’d like a more detailed review on any of the items then leave a comment or send me a message and I’ll do just that!
I’d love to know what you all loved this month, comment below or leave a link to your own monthly favourites – I love reading them!
As ever thank you all so much for reading ❤️
